Building a Robust Local Team for Farm Production

At NAKSLIFE Ghana, we believe in the power of responsible agriculture. Our team of dedicated farmers employs cutting-edge techniques to ensure the highest quality produce while maintaining the ecological balance of the land. From precision farming to organic practices, every aspect of our cultivation process is designed to yield excellence.

Cassava

  • FY 2023:1st year of cultivation. 80 acres covered jointly at business partner’s site- Wenamda Farms
  • FY 2024 : Targeting 300 acres of cassava to be planted through block farming subscription arrangement

Coconut

  • FY 2023:100 acres covered with 4900 seedlings planted
  • FY 2024 : Targeting 1900 additional seedingly to be planted

Maize

  • FY 2023:100 acres fully cultivated and harvested; intercropping with coconut
  • FY 2024 : Targeting 200 acreage coupled with a joint planting initiative with the Ghana Ministry of Agriculture – West Africa Food System Resilience Programme (FSRP2). This will provide great opportunities for youth and women farmer employment.

Rice

  • FY 2023:Feasibility studies completed with between 350 and 1000 acres identified as suitable land for cultivation
  • FY 2024 : Targeting 100 acres for initial cultivation cycle. Looking for partners for large scale mechanization of the rice production fields

Farm Operations – Coconut

We’re planting 3400 more coconut trees in June/July(2024), bringing our total planted area to over 120 acres and exceeding 8300 trees

Farm Operations – Cassava

125 acres of new land have been cleared and are now being readied for cassava planting. Our team is diligently working on ploughing, harrowing, and planting, targeted for completion by the end of May/June (2024)

Our team has efficiently cleared 60 acres of land and is now preparing the soil for the upcoming rice planting season. With a target completion date of June (2024)

Sowing Sustainability, Harvesting Community Resilience in Block Farming

A sub component is active engagement with

Ministry of Agriculture at the Local, regional and national level to drive several National programs covering Maize, Rice and Cassava cultivation to increase food reserves while boosting youth employment. 

This strategic effort aims not only to increase food reserves but also to address youth unemployment through sustainable agricultural practices.

Partnering with Ghana Crop Science and Research Group for Sustainable Seedling Nursery Programs

Engagement with Ghana Crop Science and Research Group to help us build our own grain seedling nursery program and provision of training.
